Legal Framework

SFAR legal framework is composed of the following :

1. The law establishing and determining the Attributions, Organisation and Functioning of the Student Financing Agency for Rwanda (SFAR). This law was passed by the relevant authorities and published in the Official gazette of the Republic of Rwanda as law n° 50/2006 of 05/10/2006 n° J.O 24 bis of 10/12/2006.
2. The Presidential order n° 54/01 of 06/10/2008 determining the criteria for provision of bursary and the obligations of the recipient during and after studies. This order was passed by the relevant authorities and published in the Official gazette n° 20 of 15th December 2008 of the Republic of Rwanda.
3. Order of the Minister in charge of Higher education n° 002/08 of 03/09/2008 determining the criteria for provision of loans, recovering it and the modalities through which the student who received the loan shares with the government the cost of education.This order was passed by the relevant authorities and published in the Official gazette n° 20 of 15th December 2008 of the Republic of Rwanda
